Hi,

Is AA Assist still going?
I see there is a few downloads for it.
Maybe someone can make a sticky for this for those who don't know what has been going on.
Like what you need as in downloads etc.

Thanks

Secondly, what about the hack?

you know the link i posted? there is a forum link at the top.. join the forum have a read around, specifically the threads to do with 'installing' or 'how to register' (you have to have a battletracker account, i believe) then download the game, log in and play the game.

them guys over there are quite helpful, if you get stuck.. just make a thread and ask.

and i know nothing of the hack, i dont even know what you mean, what hack?

There was some controversy about an anticheat part of Assist that went too far in some people's eyes. I don't follow the game but from what I saw posted on the Battletracker forum (I'd link but I'm positive there's some TOS violations over there) the Assist client was able to do a bit more than what we are used to with Punkbuster. Whereas Punkbuster has access to game files and a screenshot utility, Assist's anticheat could traverse one's entire drive and [I'm assuming?] send files to a main server. People were throwing around the words like backdoor, hack, etc. when this came out, and I'm unsure how accurate any of those terms are but people in general felt that their trust was violated. This functionality has since been scaled back as far as I know.
