If any of you have played Arma 2 you know what ACE and ACRE is, how awsome would it be to have acre style radios in AAPG? What do you guys think?

ACRE is a plugin for Teamspeak that used 3d voice in game. In other words distance and radio channel was a factor in game.

So, the sound comes out of your radio speaker, but seems to come from across the map??? Huh?! Or...is it just supposed to represent his actual voice?

What I mean is....is it supposed to be radio comms or ...?

Key featureset:

* Range limitation to radio; outside range, signal drops off
--- Seems gimmicky and inappropriate to me, given current size of maps. Might make sense on larger outdoors maps? The scale of ArmA maps is vastly different from those of AAPG.
* Channels
--- I guess you could use these to create a command structure to organize communication... but if you're going to be that organized, why not use TS3/Mumble/something else? I don't think it's needed in AAPG. Again, ArmA has way more players on a map at one time, right? AAPG is also fairly fast-paced, so needing to tune your radio feels like it'd just waste time
* Directional audio
--- Sounds like a cool feature; kind of like "Shout" vs "Radio" used to do in AA2, if I'm remembering right.

well then just say that all 12 players are already on the same radio channel soo...(max for each FT)
Its a cool idea, but AAPG gameplay is much different than Arma.

It WOULD be cool to have our voice SOUND like its coming via radio transmission (with the squelches and effects like so)

Sorry, but this is a silly suggestion.

I get the directional sound in games like Arma, Project Reality. You have a military simulation game that is trying to replicate military structure and communication with combined arms. This game does not need this kind of feature at all. The VOIP in game is perfectly fine for the type of shooter that this game is.

A feature like this would just take up valuable dev resources for very little gain in the way of player experience I M O
