Post subject:  FAQ : Publish Failed Due To Steam Workshop

Hi i get alot of request with the question about uploading your map and getting the following error/fail

''publish failed due to steamworkshopdidpublishactionsucceed ''to much of a good thing''

or any other kind of error

Dont worry about that

Like the Devs said in the release note , the editor has his issues and is not perfect ( yet )
Thats why we are all beta's to test this and bug it

Personal what i do and i hope it helps others to with the fail to upload is

NOT LOOKING TO THE ERROR MESSAGE ( but report it )

Just open your steam profile and look at your ''workshop items'' ( see images )

Image

I get alot of errors and fail messages but noticed it was uploaded, just watch your profile after your fail and press f5 ( refresh your page ), and see if the items changes from example 1 to 2

sometimes it can take between the 5 and 20 min, try over and over again if you run against errors, save, re open editor

BUT UPLOAD ONLY WITH THE 32 BIT VERSION OF THE BASIC EDITOR

------
EDIT : if the error is "Insufficient Privileges" it means that the user only has non Valve Free Play games and that they need to purchase a Steam game.
------
I hope this will help, good luck

You have to agree to Steam Subscriber Agreement and make sure Steam Guard is activated. Here is how to enable it : http://www.wikihow.com/Enable-Steam-Guard

Aaand yes, that too. You have to buy something from Steam to get it done.

To everyone having this issue just turn your firewall & anti-virus off before uploading.

ok problem solved it was enough to buy a game on steam and I have acquired the rights to load in the workshop. Steam could be more clear in that regard ...
Thanks because without this thread I would have lost so much time trying to understand the problem
