So now the devs don't have to focus on wilderness maps because Keebler_750 has made one! Make a server with it running 24/7 and it will be packed from all these people x root says want this type of map.

Yeah....


No offence to your hard work as i know how long it takes to refine a map but unless you can fill the server with players that want to play that map it has server killer written all over it if that came on after inner.

Another problem with maps like that is i can't see them filling up easily. 2 v 2 people are going to quit unless it fills up in 3 rounds.

Keebler_750, a suggestion:

In an open map there I recommend that there be one primary objective where players can say 'only alpha, do not do the other objectives'. Capture the flag with 2 extractions does not work as well with an open map.

Set your objectives like Pipeline, or Mountain ambush; that way assault has to engage the defense.

Ya. I hear you. There are issues.

What I want players to do, once I get it all figured out, is fight to take the flag and then rotate zone control and take out threats allowing the flag carrier to make it to extract. This creates two battles since the flag can be taken by either team. It also leaves some interesting decisions - go get the flag, or use more resources to cover the extract while you actually ALLOW the opposing team to get the flag.

I admit it's different, but I want to see if I can make it work. I can always do other versions later.

Right now, it's definitely not right. It's too hard to get your team around the flanks to engage the enemy before they extract. I'm working on it. :)

EDIT: I see the key to all this as allowing the team with the spread out manpower to have enough options to engage without making it imbalanced. I may not be able to make it work, but it's fun trying!

As for what you are looking for.
-It is roughly the same size as Downtown
-There is high points where you can see a majority of the map
-It is extract which means Defense can either guard the flag or extraction.
-There is 4 main routes like the more popular AAPG maps, (play and see), 1 is completely covered, 2 are up high, 1 is through the middle forest and plains.
-It plays good 2v2 or 12v12
-It requires teamwork to win. You can't just grab the flag and run to a win.
-It also requires teamwork to defend.
-Plays into the AAPG theme
-Night makes it more about the short game, snipers are at a disadvantage, where Day the snipers can get some across the map shots if someone isn't playing smart.
-The game play is based on the more popular maps like inner hospital, 3 kings, and Downtown.
