If you want more realism and old-school AA feel, play hardcore mode. I play it exclusively whenever there's a hardcore server available.

Good idea, except army fails to provide servers to play on. Nobody plays on unofficial servers.

There was an official server during closed beta. Don't know what the policy on that will be moving forward.

According to quick start guide unofficial servers still rank you up.. So I don't see why people would only want to play on an official server. I could be wrong in my interpretation of the guide. I think it's just that people don't know.. Maybe most people didn't read the guide. I did .. I had to read it to work out all the changes from aa3.

Thanks for answering some of my questions. I am looking forward to leaning option. I really miss it here.

I am old AA2 player, skipped AA3 as it was dissapointment for me. This one looks promising.

Totally new to AA, and have to say me and the guys I game with are loving AA:PG. Love the recoil, the damage model, the team work required, limited revives, etc. So many good things in this game.

Guess my biggest question is do we have a date for full release ? Just keen to try out more maps and more weapons.

I guess these NEW dev's just don't care about roots and prefer cod.

easier maps to create..pump out more...blah blah blah

i think they need to re look at one of the most popular games there was and realize what they are doing to it.

And you need to look at the fact that AA0/AA2 is 10+ years old. A LOT has changed in the gaming environment since AA0/AA2 was in it's prime. AA:PG is trying to balance the new with the old. IMO and many others, they are doing a very good job. Sure the game has a ways to go, but rome wasn't built in a day was it? And neither was AAO/AA2.

The fact that they even released the game as Open Beta so early means they want and need our feedback. Pay attention to these forums and you will realize it does effect the game. Just a recent example >>> viewtopic.php?f=45&t=9917

My best advice is, read through the last several pages of each AA:PG forum. You may learn a bit.
