So the whole competition script has to be re-written or purchased? Seems like the new fees will be going towards that.

Pretty sure they've been doing a full rewrite for over a year. I'm sure they are looking to recoup some of that cast as well as fund future development and prizes.

I'll withhold judgement until the site has the competition infrastructure back up.

Personally, I don't care about social media tie-ins and fancy animations. I just want fast, easy ways to navigate between upcoming games and ladder/league/tournament info. If that process is faster and more streamlined than the old TWL's, I'll be happy. If not, I'll probably consider this redesign a failure. It's my biggest complaint about the bloated FraggedNation site -- it takes WAY more effort than it should to handle actual competition content.

That's my two cents on where the priorities should be for a competition site.

On the FN side, it also handles all game platforms not just PC. Making a 1 over all competition content suite to suit ALL platforms, id say its actually really damn good.

Old TWL front page: One click to get to a match admin page
FN front page: Something like 3-4 clicks at least, more to get access to specific actions like communicating with the other team; end up navigating multiple other webpages along the way which multiplies load time

I don't consider sacrificing PC usability in the name of "this works okay on different platforms" a good approach.

Actually the new twl is supposed to have cash prizes

good, because I got bills to pay bro. knowwhatimsaying?

anyway.. hyperlite, where are you when we need your wise words and knowledge?

personally, I won't make a decision on TWL until the competition side is up & running. I agree with BC that I just really want a site I can navigate quick & easy.
