Perfect! I am so glad to see people jumping in and willing to help. I agree with Silent^Reaper about the map and plan of action.
Let's get more people involved and make this happen; it will benefit everyone. :mrgreen:

Hey guys, just checkin in again. I want to keep this thread alive so more people will get interested.

Really hope we can get some tactical drills going. I've been playing on the server, getting the hang of things. By now, I definitely know my enemy, even killed a few of them. I have one ROE violation but that is from literally my first round in AA3. Could use some pointers in recognizing the enemy from far distances though. Sometimes I want to snipe or frag an area but I'm not sure if there's friendly's close-by.

Please keep me in the loop.

I copy pasted the list of skills you guys will teach us in case anyone else is interested.

• Differences between NME’s and friendlies (and VIP’s)
• Various gameplay (Take & Hold, VIP, Extraction, Assault/Defense and how to accomplish them)
• Learning the map(s) – one map per week/training session
* Assault and Defense
* Good/Bad spots on map(s)/common camping places
* Landmark names/terms on map(s) (ie: “broken wall”, “break room”, “water fountain”)
• Tips: shooting, movements etc.

It's a good idea but as I speak for myself:
I (experienced player) don't wanna train newplayers like that.
I think they must learn to play like we all did,on a full server and learn from their mistakes as they go along.
Trial and error !
New Players can always join a server and ask for help.....(at least at the servers I always play on)
The Vets I play with are not to lousy to help out new players.
Often the problem is that new players dont't have mic's or they are affraid/embarrassed to ask for help.

Personally training to me is a waste of time and I hope you guys dont spend too much time on it, having it in game is fine but probably more than 90% of people do the training once and thats it.. never come back.. so unless its super fun in god knows what ways.. dont waste too much time.

as for a vet training a new player.. you can do that now by going into a server alone with someone and showing them the ropes.. mehh

again.. let the Devs do their thing more wisely where time needs to be spent to make the game great.. things like this can be made maybe down the road when its running perfect and theyre bored

From a new player's perspective, I think training with vets would be really useful. The training we would receive from vet players is far more advanced than the basic training provided in-game by AA3. The basic training was disappointing because it's only a cursory overview of the weapons, objectives and basic movement. I know there's a lot more to learn. I'm already playing on the servers and talking on the mic with better players to get pointers. Most vet players are helpful but as a new player I'm careful not to ask too many questions because at some point it gets distracting and players just want to play the game. So that's why training sessions would be useful because it gives us inexperienced player an open forum to discuss strategy, ask follow-up questions and develop tactical skills.

The mentor program is still in the works, meanwhile, visit the America's Army YouTube channel for Mentor videos.
