Hi hello all 8-) I have a little question about aspect ratio. Is there real 16 to 9 full screen without letterboxing in next AA3? Now I realize its real full screen is 1680x1050 since I got a new screen.

i run it at 1920x1200, "full screen" isn't about resolution, but rather aspect ratio.
Its a shame that the general pc audience is so ignorant that they use HDTV as a computer monitor...

urm.. excuse me? this is not a hd tv, its my exact model pc monitor (thats what i bought it as and it claims to be) and we are not ignorant, we play your game.

http://uk.asus.com/Display/LCD_Monitors/VE228H/

i cannot have fullscreen 1920x1080 on this HD MONITOR, so yeah ppl are unhappy about this kind of thing and rightly so. i cant speak for everyone else but i use a HD monitor because of the image clarity and colors are a lot cleaner and crisp.

AA should have an option to cater for people using such MONITORS and enjoy the game in fullscreen like they are able to on any other fps out there.

16:9 aspect ratio screen which produce a 1080p resolution is for HDTV (movies, videos, pictures and consoles). Is not a PC gaming screen.
16:9 seems to be more widespread lately due to "console fever" it seems.

16:10 is a resolution that was designed exclusively for PC widescreen, without being based on TV, as such it is probably the best overall PC resolution, chosen for rational reasons, rather than to TV ratios. PC Games will be able to use the extra resolution of a 16:10 (1920x1200)

AA3 does not have a console version, by that there is no valid reason to have support for 16:9 aspect ratio.

Unfortunatly true, in aa3 community is even more blatant, it seems.

well why does this phenomenon only affect AA3? why make it that way? every other game i play on my pc can be set at fullscreen 16:9 1920x1080. do you realize how annoying it is to have to have them black bars?

what the thread is asking is that the future version caters for all, not just the people with these so called 'exclusive to pc' game monitors.

will it? can it? is it being considered?

errrm, cough cough,
Its a real shame that the America's army team are so ignorant that they totally ignored the community and destroyed this game.

I use the 16:10 wide setting and I dont get letterboxes. My monitor is a combination HDTV Tuner. I use the DV input. Its native aspect is 16:10. 16:10 units are getting more and more difficult to find though.

I have the Samsung Syncmaster T260HD.

I do believe there are tweaks you can do to your 16:9 aspect ratio to eliminate the letterboxes. Not really sure what they are though as I have never had to do it. Letterboxes bug me.

its possible using 16:9, you can stretch it to fullscreen by using alt+enter, but as you can imagine the graphics take a hit as does your soldiers physique.. with everything wider.
