America's Army Forum Terms of Service

America`s Army is rated "T" for teen by the ESRB (Electronic Software Rating Board). All content posted in these forums must adhere to these same standards. To learn more about these standards, visit the ESRB website at The Terms of Service (TOS) guidelines will supersede the ESRB guidelines where the TOS guidelines are more restrictive.

Considering the real-time nature of this forum, it is impossible for the America`s Army staff to review messages or confirm the validity of information as it is posted. The America`s Army staff cannot vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message. The messages contained herein express the views of their respective authors and not the views of the United States Army, the America`s Army staff, or any entity associated with this forum. If any user finds a posted message that they deem is objectionable or in violation of the TOS, they are encouraged to contact a Forum Moderator or America's Army Community Manager (AACM) via email or private message.

Through your use of this service, you agree that you will abide by the TOS, make all posts in English, and will not use this forum inappropriately. Inappropriate use of this forum includes, but is not limited to, the following rules:

  • Posting, usernames or private messages which are defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, sexually oriented, threatening, or invasive of a person's privacy or that violate any law of the United States.

  • Flaming, bashing or threatening of any individual or group.
  • Sexually suggestive pictures or text not suitable for teens.
  • Using "1337" text, binary or any other method of reproducing inappropriate content or avoiding language filters.
  • Posting using obscene or `off color` language. If you think a word may be questionable, use a different word.
  • Posting of duplicate threads in more than one category.
  • Please do not quote a post that contains obvious TOS violations. Instead, contact a Forum Moderator or AACM to bring the post to their attention.
  • Linking to content in violation of the TOS.
  • Editing or altering any text left by Forum Staff in your post.
  • Posting advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, commercial solicitation.
  • Posting copyrighted material without permission.
  • Posting or reopening of locked topics. If a topic has been locked, do not create another topic. Any questions about a locked topic should be directed to a Forum Moderator or AACM via private message or email.
  • Posting content intended to take advantage of forum or server bugs or exploits.
  • Posting content or the names or URL`s of sites which explain or advertise illegal game cheats, or exploits.
  • Posts that contain names of suspected cheaters, or cheating allegations.
  • Rants, or posts, the purpose of which is merely to complain about a server admin, player, or clan.
  • The use of open proxies to connect to the forums.
  • Evading or attempts to evade warnings, bans, or other administrative actions.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list. Content may still be deemed inappropriate even if it does not specifically fall under one of these rules. Much the way a police officer may choose to issue a warning rather than a ticket. You may be warned via private message or in public. Your post may be edited and/or the thread may be locked. Put simply, when in doubt, remember the "Golden Rule": treat others with the same respect that you yourself wish to be treated. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Please be aware that violations of these Terms of Service may result in immediate actions by the administrations team of a temporary or permanent ban. Bans may also be implemented with little or no warning.

Simply put, we're trying to foster a growing community of gamers who enjoy the game, America's Army, and are interested in learning more about the U.S. Army. We understand that some may take things more to heart than others, and feel the need to expound upon certain things. Please if you have a complaint that you simply must get off your chest and you feel may violate these Terms of Service, send an email instead to We'll be more than happy to address your concerns.

Locks will be placed upon posts for a number of reasons: violation of the TOS, off-topic discussion, or argumentative or disruptive behavior in the thread. Threads may be unlocked after a cooling-off period (usually two or three days), if they were locked for argumentative behavior. The Forum Moderator may note the reason for the lock in the final post; however, this is not required.

Signatures are a way to provide a graphical representation of your online persona. They are not intended to cause controversy or offend anyone. Signatures must not be lewd or contain scantily clad men or women and must adhere to the guidelines put forth in the "Teen" rating by the ESRB. You may not use a signature as a method of evading other rules in the TOS. All signatures must conform to the following standards:

  • You may use any combination of graphics and text
  • The total height of the signature area must be less than 200px
  • The total width of the signature area must be less than 750px
  • The maximum character length must not exceed 255
  • The maximum number of links must not exceed 6
  • Total graphics file size must not exceed 100kB

Please test your signature by sending yourself a Private Message. Do not use our public forum to test your signatures.

Embedded Images
The size of the image may not be larger than 200KB. Similar to signatures (above), embedded images must not be lewd, depict scantily clad women or men or be used to evade any other rules in the TOS.

Moved Posts
A post may be moved for a number of reasons, but primarily it may be because it was posted in the wrong forum. If you can't find a post where it was originally posted try looking in a more appropriate forum.

Private Messages
The same rules regarding harassment, profanity, racism, cheats, pornography, etc. apply to private messages as they do for public posts. Private messages from Moderators are logged, so before you complain about Moderator harassment via private message, make sure you clearly understand what the Moderator was trying to tell you.

If you come across a post that you believe is in violation of the TOS we would appreciate if you let us know by reporting the post to us. You can report a post by clicking the red exclamation point icon at the bottom right of any post. Reports let Moderators know that there is an issue with a thread, post, or member. Post reporting is a way to let the Moderators know they should look at a post. Each report is handled (normally within an hour) by a Moderator. If your report didn't result in any visible action, don't worry - we are taking care of it.

America`s Army
Community Managers (AACMs) are representatives and ambassadors to America`s Army. They are in many ways the conduit between the community and the Army Game Team. AACMs work in forum administration, social media, Steam community hub, website support, IRC administration, documentation, community relations and tournament or event support. AACMs are uniquely qualified gaming enthusiasts, and are selected from amongst the ranks of our gaming community. Consider AACMs our 'boots on the ground' in our community.

Volunteer Community Managers

Assisting the AACM team are the Volunteer Community Managers (VCM). This group is composed of dedicated America`s Army enthusiasts who each have an expert, in-depth understanding of their area of responsibility. VCM`s ensure that America`s Army network systems remain fully functional and that the Moderators and Support Volunteers are kept up-to-date with critical America`s Army information allowing them to provide the highest level of support possible.


The primary responsibility of our moderators is to do just that: moderate. The mission of our volunteer Moderators is similar to that of LP/OPs. They provide 'security & harmony' over our forum by scanning posts, ensuring that posts are made in the proper location and that the content of the posts are appropriate. Frequently, Moderators will edit posts (look for the [Edited for TOS violation] marker), move threads, and lock threads.If you post content that violates the TOS, a moderator will warn you. Do not post complaints about warnings you have received in the forums. Contact an AACM if you disagree with any warnings you were given. In the event that you do not heed a warning, they will pass you to an AACM, who will take appropriate action (up to and including a ban).

As most know, a forum is only as good as its Forum Moderators. Remember: our Forum Moderators - like most - are dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers. Please remember to be kind!


Our Volunteer staff assists the community with a wide range of tasks from various support issues to training to game-play issues. Most Volunteers are AA-IRC staff, though several are also Forum Moderators or contribute to the Online Game Manual wiki website.

These dedicated individuals devote countless hours per week helping others in the community fully enjoy their America's Army experience. If you encounter one of our Volunteers and they assist you, be sure to say thanks for all their hard work.


Our Game Developers frequent this Forum and monitor your feedback on our game. It's your valuable input that helps them make decisions about the game's direction, so make sure you're heard! The "Dev's" also post exciting new information ranging from what they may be working on, to info on the next game update.

Open Door Policy
The 'Open Door Policy' is a tradition in our Armed Forces. This policy is intended to allow directed access to the Company Commander without fear of reprisal.
