I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Many "dual rail" PSUs are actually only single rail. And even if it were a true dual 12V rail unit, the specs you quoted wouldn't put enough strain on either to cause concern.

OK,
I think I know better about PSUs now.

my goal of the upgrade is to play AA3 on 1680x1050 max settings 16AF, AA isn't critical.
what should I go for to achieve my goal,
should the 6670 do the job ?
or is it absolutely necessary to go for 6770 and new PSU in order to achieve my goal ?

I don't think the 6770 would be a big enough increase in performance over the 6670 to justify upgrading your PSU.

Hope someone can help on this one...

My motherboard is a: MSI 785GTM-E45 Motherboard - Micro ATX, AMD 785G Chipset, Socket AM2+, 1066MHz DDR2, SATA 3.0 Gb/s, RAID, 8-Channel Audio, Gigabit LAN

Here's a picture of it...

I was playing in windowed mode... with game screen stretched over both my monitors (Which looks REAL good btw lol)... and I heard a pop, and something bouncing around my PC Case... about a minute later, the PC shut off, I opened the case, and found a capacitor laying on the bottom of the case marked:

FP
04He
2 7 1
1 6

I found the pic of the motherboard from above and noticed that the capacitor marked in red in the image below is missing.

Anyway... I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what that capacitor might be used for? if its on board vid or sound.. its not a real tragedy, I use cards for both... network seems fine, USB works...

any ideas what the capacitor is for?

EDIT: I should add... the system is up and running, Seems to be running fine with no problems. I called tigerdirect, they said that its still under warranty, but have to deal with MSI directly for replacement.

Its for supplying a stable power supply for something, it might work without it, but expect it to crash now and then with out a apparent reason.

Stop using it and RMA it, now. Of all the places on a mobo you do not want a capacitor missing, voltage regulation is at the top of the list.

about my PSU upgrade,
Sub-$75 Mainstream Power Supplies

I'm going for an "80 PLUS certified" PSU

SeaSonic 80+ Bronze Certified
should I go for the 380W($78) or 430W($87) ? they both have a single 6-pin connector.

Corsair‎ has no affordable 80+ (CX series)

Antec‎ Neo Eco 450C 450W80 PLUS® certified‎
120 mm double ball bearing, 1 x 6-pin and 1 x 8(6+2)-pin PCI-E connectors‎
$82

these are some serious $$ here, I'm discouraged by the prices. thoughts ?

How much are you willing to spend on a new PSU?
